Some scantools require an ECM (Engine Computer Module) to be present in order to function. Since the BMS may be used in an application where there is no Engine computer (converted EV, stationary application, etc), this option can be enabled so the BMS simulates certain ECM responses that the scantool may be looking for. This option should not be enabled if there is an engine control computer already available on the CANBUS network.
